There are problems with the stand-alone apps right now. If you look in other issues, some people have found workarounds. But since you don't need KFX support with version 1.17 anyway, you could try going back to DeDRM 6.5.5.

That book is in KFX format. You need to update to a newer version of DeDRM for that. (6.6.1 is the latest)
Thank you
Have updated to 6.6.1 - bingo it works now
thanx a ton
have a great day

@ElleKayEm Can you point me to a comment with a workaround? I'm having trouble with the latest DeDRM and KFX Input plugin.
@xtina The workarounds I mentioned were for the standalone apps. If you're dealing with KFX format, you're better off with calibre and the plugins. (Actually I recommend that regardless.)
Start your own issue and post a log:
I have used DeDrm successfully for several years with no issues. The last time I used it was March 4 of this year. I have been accumulating books since but have not processed them until last night. I could not process any so I downloaded the latest version. Still could not convert. I have always used the standalone app and just have not gotten around to installing the Calibre plugin. I am still using Kindle for Mac version 1.17.0 build 44173. Here is the log
