trying to strip DRM from purchased AZW and AZW3 files. #790

followed the instructions here: http://www.geoffstratton.com/remove-drm-amazon-kindle-books

but i get a message stating:

Any ideas?

Post a log of adding the book to calibre:

I had the same problem

Edit: I fixed it by downloading the kindle 1.17 version from kindle app 1.17 verision and checking the hash from mobileread form link.

You have to uninstall the newer kindle version, and delete your kindle library. Then download the old kindle version, login to it, then find where ever the books are held. Drag them into calibre

Oddly, the 64bit version took a huge amount of time to convert. Not sure what that was all about.
