Hi @HaoZeke, thank you very much indeed for looking at this and offering an improvement.

We have an ApprovalTests.cpp coding session on 2nd July, and I hope we will be able to look at this then.

As noted in https://github.com/approvals/ApprovalTests.cpp/issues/231#issuecomment-2204372431, we opted for fixing the underlying issue instead, but your docs here helped us to do that!
