[Feature]: Nextcloud Integration #10531

Is there an existing issue for this?

Summary

Nextcloud is a suite of client-server software for creating and using file hosting services. It is enterprise-ready with comprehensive support options. Being free and open-source software, anyone is allowed to install and operate it on their own private server devices.

Integration would be a great add on to this platform.

Why should this be worked on?

I run many servers that all have nextcloud as a remote access way of accessing them. They typically have other DB's or other resources that would go along with it. If Appsmith integrated nextcloud, that would make it so you only need one service for all of our needs instead of many services.

Nextcloud and webdav integration would be great! Any progress so far?

Nikhil-Nandagopal commented 2 years ago

@delightfuldude we haven't seen too many requests for this yet so it isn't on our roadmap yet. It would be helpful if you could point us to the API documentation and what you would expect this integration to achieve

@Nikhil-Nandagopal thank you for your quick reply! I'm wondering that there aren't more requests for nextcloud integration, as this is meanwhile the defacto standard for open source cloud solutions. Especially the collaboration features make them a serious contender to proprietary solutions.

Here are some resources:

It would be great if appsmith would be capable in storing data onto nextcloud, creating deck cards, contacts, calender events and tasks etc.

What do you think about my fantasies? 😁

@delightfuldude thanks! We'll keep an eye out for more requests. In the meantime, it seems these APIs should work with our REST API datasource. Have you tried that?

delightfuldude commented 2 years ago

@Nikhil-Nandagopal not yet, thanks for the hint! I'm new to appsmith and just figuring out how everything works!

One more requesting!
