Track down MV near miss data #10

There's a concern about missing data, ironically, in the near-miss data. Valerie filed a near-miss report using AskMV, but it obviously hasn't made it into the MVPD database as there are no data points for 2020.

he found where the near miss data was sent and had it presented in a similar manner to the collision data.
the data was sent to Helen Kim (Project Manager at City of Mountain View) who also collects their collision data.

sent a follow-up email to Mike and asked about the missing near-miss data for 2020

We're told Ask Mountain View near-miss data is not being reported out due to "equity issues" (Council Transportation Committee meeting April 2021). This points to system shortcomings; this should be fixed in general, and not be used as a rationale for not providing these important data! Even if near-miss data is incomplete, for any reason, we know that even collision data collected by MVPD are not complete either.

[x] Connect with Lenka Wright, Chief Communications Officer to discuss potential improvements to Ask Mountain View to address equity concerns. (Bruce on 20210423)

[ ] Publicize options through City Neighborhood meetings (per request from Councilmember Hicks). These meetings are set by the Council Neighborhoods Committee.
