Comparison to DataLad? #3

Hey, this looks really interesting, and I love how clearly you've explained the principles in the README (particularly with the edits in this PR: https://github.com/apuapaquola/rf/pull/2/files )

Curious how this compares to DataLad? It certainly seems like there are some similarities in approach (including using Git Annex under the hood, iiuc). Would love to see some more direct info (maybe in the README?) regarding how you're thinking about this differently

Thanks again for putting this out there, excited to try it out!

Thanks for your interest in rf! I agree Ricardo Jacomini's PR improves the explanation of the principles and makes it easier to read. I didn't know about DataLad, it seems very cool. I see many similarities with DataLad. rf supports containers and the container building process follows the same principles, and container images go in _m directories (In my bioinformatics research group we are using it with charliecloud containers). We need to make a tutorial on rf/container use and more tutorials with example analyses. I think rf's strength is its simplicity. It's easy to add to existing analyses and it is easy to use together with other tools like snakemake and nextflow. Thanks for your interest and let me know how it goes. I appreciate feedback and ideas/suggestions to make it better!
