screen jitters when using preset card groups dropdown menu #256

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. start Androminion app
2. from menu select Start Game
3. from Start new game on server dialog have game type Preset
4. select drop-down menu for which preset group of cards....when the drop-down
menu show it will jitter up and down due to showing the Status Bar at the top
and then taking it away and then showing it....taking it away....and so on.

I just found that if I click Show Status Bar in Setting, then this problem does
not occur, but it would be nice to have not Status Bar all the time....ie no
jittering in the drop-down menu.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
No showing of the Status Bar and thus no jittering.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
2.01 and now 2.02

Please provide any additional information below.
HTC Wildfire
Android 2.2

I tried to recreate this issue on my Droid 1.

4) open the preset dropdown menu
5) scroll up and down OR select a game type

When I do this, the status bar flashes. For me, the dropdown menu doesn't
move. (It scrolls properly, but its position on the screen does not change.)

The bug is hard to catch...

I could recreate it on:
Emulator 1.5

I couldn't recreate on:
HTC Desire HD 2.3.5
Emulator 2.3.3
Emulator 4.0

In the emulator the status bar flashes if you touch a spinner and the list of
the spinner is larger than the screen and has to scroll. If the list is too
short there are no flashes.

I couldn't find a fix. After googling it seems like an android bug. All fixes I
found didn't work.

Some update:
I could recreate it on Emulator 1.6

And i found some fix.
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=11419

But that does not fix the bug completely. It does not fix the bug on 1.5. And
it's ugly. It works for 1.6. From looking at the android source I think it
could fix the bug till version 2.x.

Opinions???

I close this bug with WontFix. This Bug occurs only on 1.5 and 1.6 and is only
a small inconvenience. Also there is only a solution for 1.6 and non for 1.5.
