Quick Play -- Duchy should always be a Prize option #377

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Play a Tournament when Prizes are still available
2. Reveal a Province
3. Try to choose a Duchy as the Prize

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Expect to receive Duchy, but nothing happens.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

Duchy is not a prize. When you play Tournament and reveal a Province, this is
what happens.

1) You choose "Gain Prize" or "Gain Duchy".
2a) If you choose "Gain Duchy", you gain a Duchy (unless the Duchy pile is
empty, in which case nothing happens).
2b) If you choose "Gain Prize", you choose a prize and gain it.

Okay, thanks for the explanation. I now realize what's happening here is a very
surprising decision by "QuickPlay."

I expect QuickPlay to make obvious moves for me -- for example, the fact that
it chooses to reveal the Province for me didn't shock me too much. However,
automatically limiting my choices to only Prizes is just wrong. Especially
because it would cost absolutely nothing in the UI to just include Duchy in the
set of things I can select -- but even if there was a cost I think it would
still be wrong.

Please reopen?
