The classic system had a way to create a new paragraph in the abstract by having a line break then white space then text. https://arxiv.org/help/prep#abstracts
That may not be the best approach to creating abstracts with multiple paragraphs but we should have some mechanism for that functionality
In classic this entry in metadata field:

Displays as:

And when you go back to edit the metadata field it also shows:
