matthbb R rendered as IR #1012

Description

this is very unclear, it there is a problem woth the font it is better to render to sone other R font than using 'IR'

Well-spotted @amitport , and I think this should be brought up to the authors of the article. The sources reveal that they used a rather cute workaround, snipped:

\in {\rm I\!R}

by using negative space between I and R, they indeed achieve the classic look of ℝ in the PDF. However, that would sound really badly in screen reader tools, and definitely be confusing to listeners.

I see this technique was used 6 times. Switching these to \mathbb{R} ought to fix the problem, as you suggest.

The practical problem for latexml (generating the HTML) is that negative space may need better MathML markup to get the same visual effect. But that won't be of any further aid to accessibility - fixing the source would be better.
