This increases the dimensionality of the problem. In the literature, various authors have fixed <math alttext="{\rm DM{halo}}" class="ltxMath" display="inline" id="S3.SS1.p1.11.3.m3.1">DMhalosubscriptDMhalo{\rm DM{halo}}roman_DM start_POSTSUBSCRIPT roman_halo end_POSTSUBSCRIPT and scanned over $h$ in order to infer its value from FRB data (Macquart2020, ; HR2022, ). This potentially leads to biased results as Fig. 2 shows. This can be a problem once we have a large number of FRBs such that the error bar on the inferred value of $h$h shrinks appreciably. For simplicity, we have fixed both <math alttext="{\rm DM{halo}}" class="ltxMath" display="inline" id="S3.SS1.p1.14.6.m6.1">DMhalosubscriptDMhalo{\rm DM{halo}}roman_DM start_POSTSUBSCRIPT roman_halo end_POSTSUBSCRIPT and $h$ to their assumed fiducial values of 50 pc cm^-3 and 0.7 respectively. Therefore, in §4, we have two remaining free parameters $\mu_{0}$ and $\alpha$ which we vary to fit the data.
