natbib \citealp ignored #321

Description

Citation included with natbib's \citealp macro is not rendered.

For example, in the linked arxiv submission the latex input:

Following \citet[][see also \citealp{2017MNRAS.464.4204C}]{2016MNRAS.456.1115B}, we

results in:

The reference appears in the pdf copy, so seems to be a rendering issue rather than a missing entry in the bbl file or similar.
