Support DTS Passthrough Audio #310

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to cast an MKV with DTS audio

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
expected: I can hear the audio
actual: No audio is output

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
The latest; Linux

Please provide any additional information below.
The Chromecast has the support for DTS and AC3 passthrough, the Netflix app
clearly takes advantage of it, but the Chrome process running on the Chromecast
seems incapable of doing so.

Please see issue 192. There are lots of comments from users requiring AC3
passthrough also.

Why would you add ac3 but not DTS...
Please...Please add DTS.

As a result of your lack of implementation of DTS, I have to bypass my
chromecast and use my PC instead.

I want to be able to use my chromecast as my go to device but with issues such
as this one, I can't.

Chromecast is nice but no DTS/AC3 is a major letdown. I'm thinking of ditching
it because it's just crazy not being able to use your surround set properly!
