Request for Funding: Empower The DAO - Project 1 #171

Request for Nest membership and funding (Empower The DAO - Project 1)

This request for membership of, and funding through the Aragon Nest Programme was made further to this proposal being approved on 18 June 2019 by @LouisGrx.

Team name: Empower The DAO.

Proof of concept: The Livepeer Aragon App which empowers an Aragon DAO to perform roles on Livepeer's Protocol.

Burn rate: the burn rate will vary throughout the project, due to varying resourcing levels dedicated to delivery. The phasing of the fees break down as per the schedule below:

Proposal

This project proposes to to build Minimum Viable Aragon Agent Applications to empower DAOs to interact with the protocols being developed by some other well-known Ethereum-based projects.

Once installed, the applications will appear in the App Selector, allowing users of that DAO to interact with the applications connecting to other protocols.

The project proposes to build these applications, which will be available for any Aragon DAO to install:

This is an awesome proposal, however we are short on funding for this given Nest budget. We were wondering if it'd be possible for you to cut down the proposal to 2-3 first app integrations in order to bring the funding down to $35K with a ANT30K reward. If those are successful we hope that the next Nest budget will be able to fund the entire proposal.

We have discussed within the team, and we have a proposal which fits within the constraints you have laid out.

First, it's important to state that a large part of the work plan included the build of a "template", which we would be re-used across all the 4 apps. It would be our recommendation to proceed with the creation of this template.

So for the budget you proposed, we would commit to delivering the "template", plus integrations with Uniswap and Compound.

This would provide the combined functionality to allow any DAO to

a) stabilise e.g. their ETH into DAI, using Uniswap, and then b) generate interest using that DAI within Compound

We believe that this ought to be useful functionality for any DAO in these volatile markets.

We would also propose to deliver the ENS app if there is time, which we think there will be, but can't guarantee it. As such, I suggest we link part of the success reward to this, to account for this uncertainty.

We would then look to integrate with Maker DAO as part of a follow-on project, if you so desire.

Thanks for your patience, It took some time for us to check that everything would fit within this Nest budget. Provided you can update the proposal content and roadmap to the terms proposed in your last comment, we are going to approve the Empower the DAO proposal.
