Just to add some further thoughts to this.

Questions

What exactly does it mean to be a member? What are the expectations of members with regards to engagement? There had has been talking of different tiers of members, what is the current thinking around this?

"There had has been talking of different tiers of members, what is the current thinking around this?" I think the question was more, should there be a preliminary process where new members have to earn n amount of MRT before earning the MBR token - so attending meetings, doing some tasks etc. The thinking was 1hr = 1 MRT (keeps it simple). So say 15 MRT buys you your MBR token (or somesuch).

Wow! This is awesome commentary/feedback. Thank you so much :)

You have a membership token that allows you to vote in the Aragon Cooperative DAO

What are the expectations of members with regards to engagement?

As long as you can vote, you are required to do so. Not voting makes it harder for people who are engaged with the group to pass votes and make decisions. Either vote, or leave, but do not just sit on the sidelines.

There had has been talking of different tiers of members, what is the current thinking around this?

I do not support this.

Issues

We don't have codified working practices yet

Yes. While I very very much appreciate your comments, this is a proposal. It is a draft showing what the Aragon Cooperative workflow could look like. Until it has been voted in, it is just that, a proposal. As such, I (regretfully) must request that comments are kept to the Keybase chat. Once this proposal is passed, then it will be open to the group to comment in the Issues and use to get stuff done. Right now it's just my way of showing what could be possible in the future.

I'm pretty convinced Membership and engagement are two things that can (and should) be tackled at the same time. I'm leaving here the input I shared yesterday on the #general keybase chat:

Anyhow, gor me is pretty clear that we have a Cooperative with: 1 - Genuine Engaged Members. 2 - Genuine Engaged willing-to-be Members. 3 - Ungenuine engaged members 4 - Ungenuine willing-to-be members (I haven't sense any of these so far though) 5 - Superficially engaged Members (people that have no enought time to deeply commit, allthoug they want to be arround, make their voice being gear some times, and of course, to vote). 6 - Not engaged nor willing-to-engage Members.

We DO need a Membership comitee that would be able to judge what is the state of each Cooperative Member and take on-boarding / off-boarding decisions. Wondering if @lkngtn 's proposal from last december could be applied somehow here...

Aragon Forum Community Initiative: Aragon Cooperative 🙌 This post was co-authored by myself and @stellarmagnet as a result of a discussion which started in the AGP1 post-vote analysis thread. The intention is to create a Community Cooperative running on Aragon. The following post outlines our current thinking about why this is a good idea for the community, how it could work initially, and the types of actions and community interactions that it would facilitate. This post is intended to introduce the idea more broadly and hopefully gather feedback an...

in any case, I think that filling this document: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wUVZ6pSeaQtI2_JVn0Bsli47WA4ba939Tyl9FXXxmrE/edit?usp=sharing is a good start to identify engaged people that could form he first membership comitee.

If an ungenuine engaged member is suspect to be present, he/she should be prevent to be part of that membership comitee, and then it would be the membership comitee itself the entity that would judge his genuinity to commit to Cooperativism/Collaboration and the values stated in the Manifiesto.

When forming the first comitee, the person who called the member to be vetoed shall remain outside from the comitee till rhese entity have stated their judgement about it and define rules to be part of the comitee.
