What OS are you using?
Sorry I didn't say, it's Debian 9. Thanks
I have changed to ubuntu 18, but it´s not working, it is always installed rtorrent 0.9.7 The new version is not allowed in some of my trackers Could you tell me the steps to install rtorrent 0.9.6? thanks
edit: I have installed again v1.7.1 and I can see the log says:
Checking File Repositories xmlrpc-c: OK rtorrent: OK Could not find 0.9.6 so using latest version instead
edit2: installing v1.7.... it is installed 0.9.7... Any help to downgrade to 0.9.6??
Thanks
I tried again with Debian 9 and with a different release (v1.6) but unfortunately it did not work. I am still not able to downgrade to 0.9.6

You can now run rtinst and the additional supporting scripts :~$ sudo rtupdate

Fixed it with Debian 8 Debian 9 and ubuntu 18 install 0.9.7, always you cant choose Debian 8 (I dont know about ubuntu 16) you have the option to choose version.
I found issues compiling anything other than the feature-lock (0.9.7) version on Debian 9 and Ubu 17.10+ , so for those OS this is the only version the script lets you install.
Not sure what the issues with compiling on these newer OS are, but if anyone does know a fix for it, I will build it into the script.
Any way to make clean install of 0.9.6? Really don't want 0.9.7. Using Ubuntu 18.04
As far as I am aware same issue only 0.9.7 will work with Debian 9 and Ubuntu 18
What OS are you using?
i'm using debian8 ,and change the rtorrent version through rtupdate is impossiable. If i change the designated version in /usr/local/bin/rtinst to 0.9.6,it report back this version could not find. Checking File Repositories xmlrpc-c: OK rtorrent: OK Could not find 0.9.6 so using latest version instead
@wxpiero I will check into this
Testing on Debian 8, I was able to downgrade using rtupdate
Not been able to recreate this issue

i would select rutorrent 3.10 how i do?
I am trying to install rtorrent 0.9.6 but i am not able. Few days ago when you were installing it or updating it, an option to choose rtorrent version was available but now this option is gone.
According with the wiki rtupdate can upgrade, (or downgrade), the libtorrent/rtorrent version installed.
I have tried and always installed 0.9.7 but it does not ask which version you want.
