git ignore node modules
add standard package.json devDeps(still with honor to spm though)
package.json test command
fast return for once
replace sinon deprecated API reset with resetHistory

Looks like this whole project is deprecated, but we can still use this as a convenient utility npm module, so hopefully this fixups could be some help.
