Personendaten im Handler integrieren, abhängig von Handrit data on github.

I'm wondering what we actually want to be able to do with person data.

What I definitely see as a use case is in the metadata, when it comes to normalizing the scribe's name.
But other than that... do we need to be able to search for a manuscript that is related to a person? or anything else?

My thoughts on this were:

Short term goal: Normalize scribe names, so they can be searched easily. -> Look up all MSs written by particular scribe(s)

Long term vision: Augment with data of scribes, where the name is unknown, but where the hand is confirmed in multiple MSs. Come up with some sort of identifier for that.

And how do we handle other relationships than scribes (e.g. manuscript owner, etc.)?

Regarding the long term vision: that would be great! I wonder how that's encoded in the data, though...

  1. Probably. Should we revisit the idea of a proper backend database at this point? :D

1.1. Owners would be interesting as well, but a little more challenging, because of multiple owners.

  1. It is not. At least afaik. That would be something we would have to add over time and possibly crowdsource.
