it is possible to automatically archive a github release on zenodo. This not only archives the state of the repo at this point, it also generated a DOI for it, in order to make it quotable in the scientific community.
We'll need to decide if we want that or not.
Note that it's not possible to archive a release that has already been made. So it should ideally be set up before the first release.
