What is meant by State of Art - Ageing? #1

If software is a mathematical product how can it age? If a theorem was correct 200 years ago it will be correct now.

To the above statement: There are two, quite distinct, types of software ageing. The first is caused by the failure of the product’s owners to modify it to meet changing needs; the second is the result of the changes that are made. This “one-two punch’ can lead to a rapid decline in the value of a software product.

As per connect session on 8th April 2021, State of art ageing i.e time, feature & cost means how a product evolved with time and how did it get better cost-wise as well as feature-wise. Will be continuing with this defination.
