Use of Acsiidoctor provides more flexibility and provides text based diagrams.

No more Visio-Diagrams and exports for different output formats are required.

All diagrams are easy to maintain with a text editor.

Asciidoctor use the fantastic PlantUML syntax/engine to render diagrams.

I would love to see those diagrams implemented as plantUML, but I fear that the layout will be a problem...

I experimented with various of these textual-diagram-dsl - and I'm very disappointed by the resulting output...

As we have not modified the diagrams since several years now...(change-rate is very low), I don't regard this issue as high prio.

In case we find a solution that created acceptable output (imho only graphviz could help here), then I'm in :-)
