This causes problems with some specific phrases such as with:public
As a short term fix, I could look at creating a whitelist of phrases to not do
replacement within.

Maybe add a magic word that emoticony regonizes and prevents it from processing
the
blip? Something like :noemoticony: at the start of a blip.

This has now been added and tested on the developer sandbox.
Adding [ne] to the start of any blip will prevent emoticony from making any
changes
in that blip.
This change will be in the next release which will happen within the next
couple of
hours.
