FreeCAD #121

In order to complet the CAD suite for ArcheOS, we should add FreeCAD. There where some problems for this software in Wheezy and currently it can be installed as a backport from Jessie: https://packages.debian.org/wheezy-backports/freecad

3D CAD can be use in archeology mainly to reconstruct bildings and ruins with the informations coming from the excavation or the historical sources. This operation can be also performed in ArcheOS with Blender, that probably is more indicated for such a use, but in the last years, with the important support of 3D printing in archeology, a good 3D CAD is useful also to design and print components of specific hardware to be used in the lab or in the field (e.g. mobile microscope and so on)

I just download and tested in ArcheOS Theodoric the package of FreeCAD from the Jassie backports. Everything works fine, we could add it in our repos and close the issue (and close ArcheOS CAD metapackage)

This is no more an issue for ArcheOS-next (I added FreeCAD in archeos-meta, branch archeos-next)
