Check official deb package for MeshLab #61

We have to check the official deb Package of MeshLab. The software developed very fast in the last month and we would need the last version (for all the raster layer extension added with the new release). If the deb package is obsolete, we will have to do a specific package for ArcheOS.

In the repos it's Meshlab 1.30, the features you mention are in 1.32.

That's right. We will need to package MeshLab 1.32. I will try to contact the developers to see if they planned a new release soon, or if we can start packaging MeshLab 1.32 (or if they will do it).

Here is the state of the debian package. there is no 1.32 branch and no update since this summer. http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=debian-science/packages/meshlab.git;a=shortlog;h=HEAD. Maybe we could work on a 1.32 release on this basis (with proper citation and licencing)... For me including 1.32 in next version of Archeos is mandatory...

There are so many difference between meshlab v1.30 and v1.32 that also for me in theodoric we need the 1.32. ciao

Nothing on ubuntu repositories or from backports?

nothing on ubuntu. https://launchpad.net/meshlab and nothing on backport since the maintainer isn't working on 1.32 http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=debian-science/packages/meshlab.git;a=shortlog;h=HEAD.
