Closed dstreiffert closed 11 months ago

Description of Problem

When SLB is activated, my home page (www.rainieraudubon.org) looks like I'm logged into WP. When SLB is not activated, the home page looks normal, but other pages have the WP headeer. SLB is currently not activated. (Clearly describe the issue you are experiencing here, and fill in the necessary details below)

Hi, the WP admin header is not displayed on any pages at the link provided.

If you are seeing the WP admin header when you are not logged in to the site, clearing your site cache and browser cache is recommended to ensure you are not viewing stale data.

If you are still experiencing an issue, please provide an updated link that exhibits the issue as well as a screenshot of what you are seeing.

Thanks.

Hi, the WP admin header is still not displayed on any pages at the link provided.

After ensuring that you've fully cleared both the site's and browser's caches, please provide a screenshot of the affected page(s) so that your issue can be evaluated further.

I spent two days and about 3 hours in chat sessions with Blue Host on this issue, which would not go away with numerous cache cleaning. They first said there were plug-in conflicts with both Jetpack and SLB. Then later said it was just SLP. The only way I could get rid of the problem was to deactivate SLB. Today I activated it and the problem reappeared. But after one cache purge it goes away. So something has changed in the last day or so. It’s really frustrating that there appears to be numerous plug-in conflicts with WP, that ultimately turn out to be cache problem. And everyone seems to have a different method of doing this. Yet Bluehost people were convinced it was a plugin issue. There must be a better way of dealing with this. Dan

SLB does not do anything that should affect session caching, which is what it sounds like is occurring here. Most likely, enabling/disabling plugins allows WordPress to perform some lower-level cache-busting operations, which temporarily resolves the issue you're experiencing.

You did not mention the caching plugin you are you using or if the admin header is displayed on other devices than the one you have logged into, but it sounds more like an issue related to the browser cache or a particular caching plugin.

Fully disabling any caching plugins to see if that resolves the issue is recommended. Testing other caching plugins may also be worth looking into.
