[Navigation] Movie animated thumbs vs. movie album art? #112

This is an enhancement question/idea...

1. Movie animated thumbs

A natively compatible movie file (ex: .divx, .m2ts) when stored on the PS3
hard drive has an auto generated 10 second animated thumbnail when viewed
from the videos menu. It is a very cool feature which is both intuative
when viewing the movie list as well is 'super-cool'. Is this feature in
any way possible/practical from a DLNA server like yours?

2. Movie album art

The PS3 also has a propriatory movie format used in the playstation store,
where the movie has a specific thumbnail completely seperate to the movie
(similar to album art). I downloaded a 'Terminator: Sarah Cronicles'
episode for a couple of dollars last week and noticed this and thought it
would be a good idea for movie files created at home. I think that a
feature similar to this could be easily implemented by having a jpg with
the identical name as the movie in the same directory (or some other
sotrage mechanism). This could also be an automated or done via a real-
time Amazon query. An auto query of the movie title (strip special
characters first) to Amazon will return a jpg. Amazon has good DVD jpg
images that would work well for album art.

Reference: Album Art Agregator (http://team.thenexusnet.com/nexus/AAA)
link may not work and I can't find source code. :o(

1. Movie animated thumbnails are not supported on ps3 (I tried a few things,
believe
me :p)

2. You can already have a custom movie art with a <movie>.cover.jpg filename
(even if
it seems to be little buggy)

Thank you for the quick feedback!! :o)

What do you think about the idea of using Amazon as a real-time jpeg source for
auto-
generating movie album art? It could create the <movie>.cover.jpg files on the
fly
and the end user can sit back in amazement and by auto-generating the
<movie>.cover.jpg you improve performance for subsequent browsing.

Another idea is if animated jpegs are supported in order to achieve an animated
thumbnail?
