linux - run ps3mediaplayer as background daemon (no gui to open) #121

When configuration of ps3mediaplayer is in place, it would be nice to be
able to start application without java gui opening.

as many probably has linux station without X opened or any monitor
attached at some point.

So feature would be very much appriciated, and i guess it would fit into
the windows request to run as service?

You can add 'console' as a commandline parameter. Like:
./PMS.sh console

actually it's not working anymore in latest linux version, sadly (but it's
fixed in
the trunk)
you need to download 1.02 (and not 1.02.1) if you want to try that switch

thanks, i will get 1.02 to try it out for now.. easier than to start X and
point to
a screen that i dont use for anything and waste of memory.

well, thats not the "linux way", many application run based on consoles, so
thats
sad news...
but again, anything is possible on linux, even fake Xserver sessions.
