a simple rule could determine that an x-long query or any multi-line query should mean that generative search engines that support longer search prompts should have a higher likelihood of appearing at the top. and the reverse for very short queries. could gradually add a filter for search engines that support site: searches (which I commonly do).

Should indicate to the user when this routing is in effect (in the interface and in the search log), and let the user turn this off

Could try adding https://www.etymonline.com/ and Wiktionary for single word queries?
