When renaming a PV which has been defined as pvacess (i.e. pva://EPICS:ai1), the renamed pv is defaulted to channel access. It is then not possible to change the access type.

Would it be possible to either maintain the original PV access type (either ca or pva)
Alternatively, allow selection of access type through the web page and the url api.

Able to replicate this. Will fix asap.
