API call for last known value of aPV #79

Hi, wondering if there's an API call to get the last known value of a PV ? I imagine there's an API call for the last known timestamp and I'd use that stamp along with the getDataForTime.

Please clarify the best way to do this and point me to the API ? TIA

Will the Save/Restore guide in the user guide help? Ask for the value of the PV as of now?
