How to get rid of semi-transparent window on youtube

In Aegisub, I'm trying to write over a textbox that was in japanese with CC. This is what it's meant to look like:

However, on youtube, it appears like this:

Scaling aside, as I'll be able to fix that pretty easily, how would I get rid of the semi-transparent box behind it? It's also appeared in another one of my videos, and it's quite bothersome:

Try resetting your YouTube subtitle options (gear icon -> Subtitles/CC -> Options -> Reset).

This is the one display option that YTSubConverter can't override.
