Support for RetroAchievements #660

Open Shideravan opened 2 years ago

Shideravan commented 2 years ago

Would be nice to create support for RetroAchievements in ares https://retroachievements.org/

jeffythedragonslayer commented 1 year ago

Do you have a list of requirements somewhere?

Kawa-oneechan commented 1 year ago

I dunno if that's in scope for a project that focuses on accuracy and preservation but that's just my opinion.

jeffythedragonslayer commented 1 year ago

Maybe a better fit for a fork?

Does it degrade the accuracy?

Does it degrade the accuracy?

I wouldn't implement achievements in such a way that would degrade accuracy if I were doing this.

RetroAchievements support doesn't affect the accuracy of the game running on the emulator in any way.

You should get in touch with the devs from RA

I am neither an RA dev nor certain whether the given documentation includes a sufficient "list of requirements" but this is the C library that they have provided to make parsing game states and server calls easier: https://github.com/RetroAchievements/rcheevos
