With sound Off, emulator goes really fast.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Set speed to normal, frame skip to zero, turbo off and enable "Synchronize 
emulation speed".
2. Mute the sound or turn it off.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Turning the sound off should not affect the speed of the game. Instead, the 
game goes 3 times as fast.
I know that with the sound turned off the system is free to dedicate more power 
towards speed, but that really shouldn't be allowed to happen.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
VBA RR v22. Win XP SP3

Please provide any additional information below.

Muting the sound is fine, the emulation does not speed up.  I think the speed 
up caused by turning sound off is more of a feature intended by the original 
developers
