Girardi isochrone interpolation problems on SGB, RGB #53

Closed tedvh closed 9 years ago

tedvh commented 10 years ago

A subset of SGB and RGB interpolations among the Girardi isochrones are incorrect. This appears to be an algorithm problem based on the incorrect assumption that records on the same line of different isochrones refer to the same Equivalent Evolutionary Point. An updated scheme is needed for better interpolation among these isochrones.

Hmph, so much for that assumption.

Do you have any diagnostic data that could help pinpoint this issue? I'd like to ensure that nothing blatantly wrong is occurring outside of the models prior to attempting a model modification.

Here is a plot of the problem.

Also, I know from talking to someone familiar with these isochrones that the EEP assumption (which you are effectively using by interpolating based on row number) is invalid for these isochrones.
