Hyades.UBV.phot not found #75

Hello,

I am an undergraduate student and right now I am learning to use BASE-9 for my research. While running through the tutorial, I have a problem with singlePopMcmc, as it returns an error of not finding the Hyades.UBV.phot file. I tried searching for the file but I couldn't find it in any directories. Where could I find it or download it from?

The second problem is when I tried running the hyades.csh script (part IV.F of the tutorial), I could not find the mpiMcmc file as specified in the script. Where could I look for the file?

Also, I have trouble understanding the procedure of running BASE-9. Where and how do I import my photometry file into the program, and how do I start from there?

Thank you very much.

I figured it out. I thought the Hyades.UBV.phot file is a separate file, but I realized it was generated by simCluster.

Good afternoon, and thank you for your patience, Nice work sussing this out! I'd be happy to accept a PR (or etc.) if you choose to update any documentation to reflect your experience.

As you found, you do have to provide your own photometry. That can be simulated photometry from simCluster (preferably followed by scatterCluster or your own code to provide some observational uncertainty,) or observed photometric measurements in one or more filters (formatted appropriately.)

The hyades.csh script is apparently in need of updating. We have been calling mpiMcmc singlePopMcmc for some time now.
