I would like to :

In the Ajax.Autocompleter, there is an js event for methodAfterUpdate. Is is possible to get it into Tapestry5 ?

Yes, I think it should be possible to add that to the tagselect-component. I'll see if I can get it added today.

Use parameter t:afterUpdateMethod.
