Oops, I missed this when I entered issue 85. This is not why I originally started that issue, but more and more I'm thinking the most important part of it is: perhaps there could be an option in the user's profile to select which language their stories should default to, so they don't have to set it each time.

Revisions 206, 207 and 212: this functionality is now active. When users post a new work, the work is id'd as being in the same language as the active locale. When users view the works index, they see only works in the langauge of their active locale.
More functionality for users will need to be added, as per Issue 85.

Zooey I'm unsure how to test this - can you advise?

Since this issue was marked fixed, the filtering has been disabled. This was done in revision 424. It would be easy to restore, but I think it needs some input from Design on the following issues:
If we want issue 85 to be implemented before restoring filtering by works, that would probably need to be post-beta.
Hope this is reasonably clear!

As I understand it, the idea is that the language menu picks:
a) what language the site should display in and b) the language anything you post will be assumed to be written in
If you set language to French, you will see the site in French and return search results in French (if we had the translations set up).
I presume you can change this at any time using the drop down, so you could be merrily navigating in your native language, then change the drop down to another language to have it inherit that language setting in order to post?
If this is the case, then what we probably need is some well written help that you can access from next to the language menu.
Is this the kind of feedback you need?

Changing to Accepted, I don't think FixedButUnverified is the right Status.

Following the model in otwbingo revision 102, add language setting to works, and add basic filtering-by-language to the View Works page.
