Hi

Rooting is not required. Your Android device should have the USB host function.
Check if the HTC Desire C has the USB host function (unfortunately lot of HTC
devices lack the USB host function).
Do you get the Gallery popup when you plugin in your DSLR and turn it on?

Thanks for reply.
How can I check if the Host USB function is active ? Can you help ?
Also what do you mean by Gallery popup ? When I launch the App I have a
screen with release number, icons on top right corner & red message about
'no DSLR detected'.
Sincerely.

You can check USB host with
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.usbhostdiagnostics&hl
=en or with your device support.

Gallery popup:
After you connect your DSLR and turn it on you should get a popup windows on
your Android device with a title 'Gallery' and with a question 'Allow the app
Gallery to access the USB device?'

Anyway, if your device has USB host function after connecting the DSLR and
turning it on you should get a dialog with the list of application that support
it.

I called HTC support and they said the Desire C cannot have the USB port
configured in host mode.
I guess this could be mentioned in the compatibility info of your App.
Only the "1" series can have it... Too bad.
With best regards.
