Project Page gets completely greyed out on adding a data source to the project tree

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. While on the project page, right click on the project tree to add a data
   source.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
At this point you would expect nothing more than the data source being
added to the project tree to happen.
The project page completely greys out as the data source gets added to the
tree and its stays so until the user clicks on any other node of the
project tree.

Additional information.
This does not happen when the data source is added using the start button
from the project page or when right clicking on the project page to add the
data source while on a query.

This also happens when deleting a datasource and replacing it with another.
