It may be less important what the skeletons are, and more important how Tom deals with them. We aren't looking for the big reveal so much as for Tom's growth in dealing with his stuff. Now that the resolution is about Tom's extended family, the artifacts themselves are less important than people.
What are the issues stuffed deepest into the storage unit? In a way, it's less important what they are--what's important is how Tom (and Tom's family) relates to them.
