Tom's Arc

Before: Tom is a hipster. He wears skinny jeans, beanies, a plaid shirt, sweater vest and a pocket watch. He is a shift manager at a used books and records store. He has no positive relationships, no friends, girlfriend or family besides Drake, he is alone. His turbulent upbringing has left him feeling that he would make an inadequate father, thus he has no desire for children. He wants to be like Manny, and indirectly like Drake. He wishes he had their confidence and their ease with people and conversation.

After: Tom adopts a more refined style. He wears business casual slacks and a sports jacket. He has accepted a job as a corporate manager, employee training, at a distance location. He has found his extended family and has surrounded himself by new friends and a girlfriend. He realizes he is now mature enough to start a family of his own. With his newfound confidence he realizes the nuisances Manny and Drake are.
