Describe the bug

The application crashes on my machine a few seconds after startup. I have tried different settings in the config file, but it always crashes no matter what I've tried.

To Reproduce

Just launch the app and it crashes.

@ondrej-vipo Does it crash if you run it as admin?

ondrej-vipo commented 2 years ago

Yes, same behaviour when I run it as admin.

ondrej-vipo commented 2 years ago

... also I have tried to run it inside Windows Hyper-V VM on the same host machine and it also crashes.

aristocratos commented 2 years ago

Which language are you using in your VM? If not english, would you mind changing to english and try to run again. Also the event log in english would be helpful.

It looks to be crashing right after WMI information collection begins (about a second after btop4win start). But no idea why as of yet.

aristocratos commented 2 years ago

Also if you don't mind you could try enabling user-mode crash dumps: https://learn.microsoft.com/sv-se/windows/win32/wer/collecting-user-mode-dumps?redirectedfrom=MSDN

And see if you get a crash dump generated for btop in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps

UScr00ge commented 2 years ago

Mine is also crashing, and is generating crash dumps in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps

aristocratos commented 2 years ago

@UScr00ge Could you post said crash dumps here?
