Editing raw HTML needs to be replaced with something more friendly like kix

An early draft reusing the code to implement the student notepad is running at

Is there a way to toggle between WYSIWYG and "HTML" editing modes?  Blogger 
illustrates this functionality pretty well.  While I like this editor very 
much, without an HTML mode, we would lose the ability to insert tables and 
images as currently implemented.

The editor now has two modes (raw HTML and Wysiwyg).  Filed a fresh code review 
request as issue 85.
