Need a simple text entry box for students

When writing exercises like:

1. Write an English sentence with understandable semantics but incorrect 
syntax. Write another sentence which has correct syntax but has semantic errors.

It would be useful to have a new widget which is a simple text entry box in 
which the student writes their answer.  The contents of this box will be stored 
in the app-engine datastore.   Initial default contents of the box should be 
specified by the page content author, e.g. "write your answer here".  That 
initial content could be displayed in light gray and the text color changes to 
solid black when the student types their answer.

Sure enough.  I guess I really want this.  Every time I try writing real 
content, I find I need this.  :-)
