What version number you are using? I'm currently using the newest update 3.09.67

What game client are you playing? Retail, Burning Crusade, Classic / Live, PTR, Beta I updated it through WoW Up Retail

What language is the game client set to? English version

Ask your question Has anyone lost their profile after updating the ArkInventory through WoWup Retail? I literally went to vendor trash and it showed my bags all messed up and then when I went to go update, I got back in to the game and my profile is gone! All my settings are reset and I can't find out how to fix it!! I worked so hard to get custom spots!! How do I fix this or find my original profile?!

if the updater hasnt deleted all the config files you may want to check for the arkinventory bak file and rename it to lua to see if thats your old config.

always take the occasional backup of your savedvariables for situations like this. you typically wont change your settings around that often so you dont need to do it constantly but you need to do it a couple of times a year

WoWUp doesn't touch your WTF folder (where your actual settings for the addons are), so losing settings by updating is more than likely a coincidence. I have on more than one occasion had settings for addons trashed (not since I started using WoWUp though, but that is also just a coincidence), more often than not by the game client. When that happens the addon (not knowing any better) usually runs as if it was a new install. WoW will over write the bak-files with what ever was loaded last, so if you atarted the game more than once they will be as empty as the active ones.

Because of this I have since 2018 kept a backup of my WTF folder so that I more easily can recover if/when it happens again. In the beginning it was only a manual backup every now and then, but the past couple of years I have a script taking a backup every day.
