All Custom Bar Sorting is reset if you select a different profile! #887

BetaVirus commented 8 years ago

I have setup sorting bars 2 times already and ever time I select 'Profiles>Current Profile>select between profiles, it deletes ALL the sorting I did on the other profile. ALL of it! I even tried to Export the sort data the second time, before doing the change and it still deleted it. POOF GONE. I can switch back and forward between the profiles but the defaults rules and sorting are all that is left.

I don't know what you need to fix this, but let me know and I will provide you the data as soon as i can. This is annoying and wasting my time to have it reset when selecting a new profile

_EDIT_ Here is a related post that i missed from another user the only diff is I am not even keeping my setting for one profile: https://github.com/arkayenro/arkinventory/issues/886

the default sorting, or bar level sorting?

the issue you linked is due to sharing the same layout, or style, or categoryset across multiple profiles, not that the options reset when changing between profiles.

Bar level.
Example: Bar25 set 'equip soulbound' Bar24 set 'equip account bound' etc.

I need my Demon Hunter Profile to have Bar 1 for Soulbound stuff. And My Mage profile to have Bar 1 for reagents. But any changes i make on 1 profile is a cloned to the other. Either or. Never different. Is there a video on how to make profiles for different needs for different characters?

WoW Classic 2021

Same issue here. I have 4 characters. Tried to name the bags differently for each character but when I log into another character the bag names and have changed globally from the character before.

I thought when creating a new character profile that any change to any setting in ArkInventory is tied to that profile. Then when you switch profiles all the settings for that specific character.

it is and it isnt. its not the profile itself, its the three blueprint options in the profile that determine how things are setup. you can have different profiles with the same blueprint settings and they will display and act the same because they are the same.

see https://github.com/arkayenro/arkinventory/wiki/UserGuide_Profiles

if you really want 4 completely different profiles you need to create 4 designs (layout and style), and 4 category sets, then assign each set to a profile, then it will work the way you want.
