Team 3 - Tiny Coders Project

Project Description

Build a platform that serves as a shop management tool for shop owners and technicians and a marketplace for the general public where they can search, chat, and book car service appointments. The idea is to solve the following age-old problems:

1. Hassle of finding an auto service professional (mechanic, tire shop, body shop, etc). Lots of phone calls need to be made to describe the same problem and hopefully find someone trustworthy to work on your vehicle.
2. Shop owners are not able to accurately provide estimates on when they would be available to service your car.

The platform will cater to two audiences:

1. Shop owners (non-tech people who don’t like to work on computers for a long period of time and would want lots of administrative work to be automated)
2. General public (18+) who like apps that are very simple, to the point, and useful

Main features to build for shop owners:

1. Word Orders — Shop owners and employees should be able to filter/ search/ update/ create work orders with all necessary details such as estimated time, parts used, cost (labor + parts), the technician assigned as well as the ability to send work orders to customers for payment
2. Quote system — Be able to view/respond to quote requests sent by vehicle owners and also be able to chat with the vehicle owners regarding the request easily
3. Appointment management — Be able to view/edit/create appointments made by customers or shop personnel as well as set the availability of their shops so that anyone can view their schedule and book an appointment
4. Notification system (nice to have) — Notify personnel when a quote is received or work is completed/assigned or appointments made/updated

Main features to build for Vehicle owners:

1. Search and booking system — Provide the ability for anyone to search for service providers and book an appointment
2. Quote Request system — Have the ability to define a request/problem as a template and send it to multiple service providers at once. Once an estimate is provided, have the ability to book an appointment with a preferred service provider.
3. Notification system (nice to have) - Notify when a quote is received or work is completed/assigned or appointments made/updated
