Unable to play sounds in Miriani on macOS Catalina with Tintin++ 2.02 #1

Open mikedoise opened 4 years ago

Hello, I went through the install process and everything seems to be ok, but I can't get the soundpack to play sounds. When I run ./start I am put in Tintin++ but it seems that the later versions of the client may have some changes that the scripts aren't working with. For example, it says you are running on with version . . where represents extra white space. I am also seeing output like this.

VARIABLE {result} {0}

VARIABLE {result} {0}

VARIABLE {result} {0}

ls: ./0/*.tin: No such file or directory

VARIABLE {result} {0}

VARIABLE {Homedir} {{1}{/Users/michaeldoise}}

VARIABLE {result} {/Users/michaeldoise}

VARIABLE {Homedir} {{1}{/Users/michaeldoise}}

VARIABLE {result} {/Users/michaeldoise}

I hope this helps in fixing the problem. I have several users that would play MUDS on the Mac if this can be fixed.

Keep up the good work, and I would love to help work on this project if I can learn more on how this is designed.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback. Please let me know which version of the sound pack you are currently running as well as the version of tintin++. Did you install tintin++ from Mac Ports or from Homebrew? What version of Mac OS are you running as well?

Good evening,

I am running Tintin++ 2.02.01 which I installed from Homebrew. I also installed Sox I think the name is from Homebrew as well, and I cloned both your master and dev branches. I am running the master branch most of the time, which is version 2.1.0.3. I am also running macOS Catalina 10.15.3.

Please let me know if you need more information, or you need me to try anything on my end. I am also a developer, but I have not palyed to much with the scripting in Tintin. also, I am seeing something about ls and file not found. Here is the error.

ls: ./0/*.tin: No such file or directory

just in case this did not go through in the initial issue message.

Thank you again for the quick response, and have a great evening.

Hello,

Thank you for your information. The reason the sounds are not playing has to do with the version of tintin++ you are running. They made some changes to the way tintin++ handles certain variables. I will post the updated sound pack soon. As to you’re willingness to help me, that would be greatly appreciated. You can directly e-mail me at armeyer82@me.com mailto:armeyer82@me.com or Skype me at nightowl2482.
