Trialing Arq 6 now and having a functioning opensource restore tool is important (in case of Arq going dark for any reason).
@sreitshamer Please confirm if Arq 6 support is planned for arq_restore, including for encrypted backups and S3 Deep Archive.
We're updating it for Arq 6 data.
Hey @arqbackup. It seems like neither the arq_restore
utility nor the textual documentation on the format has been upgraded to the new version, and it's been some time. I still love the app, and you've likely had your hands full with the release of v7, but I would definitely sleep more soundly if this tool and the docs were updated. Is their any sort of timeline for when we might expect this?
Any updates on this issue? I am evaluating Arq as a backup solution, and having an open-source restore tool would be great.
When are you going to update this for Arq 7? This is the only thing stopping me from upgrading.
Sorry for the delay. It's on our list of things to do. Just so you know, the Arq 7 app will work for restoring without any license code, so you can always use that to restore instead of this arq_restore utility. And the data format is documented here: https://www.arqbackup.com/documentation/arq7/English.lproj/dataFormat.html
@arqbackup can we assume this is not going to happen? Is this project practically archived?

Arq Backup @.***
I'm trying to use
arq_restore
to restore a backup taken using arq6. Backed up to aws, no encryption password. When I usearq_restore
, no folder UUIDs can be found so I can't restore. Is this a known issue?
Thanks in advance.
