Protocols used in SDRF must be declared in IDF

..except of "standard" (or ArrayExpress) protocols (I guess)

Just a bit of background on this. Submitters have the option to re-use protocols already submitted to ArrayExpress. In this case they don't enter anything in the IDF for these protocols. In the 'Protocol REF' column of the SDRF they include the protocol accession eg. P-AFFY-6 (http://www.ebi.ac.uk/arrayexpress/protocols/51). Thus these won't have any reference in the IDF. We discussed this today at a curators meeting so this may change in the future.

There is no automatic way to check if the protocol with the given name exists in ArrayExpress. Can't implement this for now..
